Orange County Marriage Records
The Town Clerk's Office, where marriage licenses were issued, maintain Orange County marriage records. Requesters may obtain these records in person, by mail (marriages from 2023 to the present day), by email (noncertified copies), or online (via the Vermont Department of Health). Requesters may obtain certified copies of marriage records from 1902 through 2021 from the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA).
Eligible persons may visit the Town Clerk's Office where the marriage license was issued to apply for certified copies of marriage records. They must provide the individuals' names and the marriage date.
Requesters wishing to mail their marriage record requests must download and complete the marriage certificate application form. They must mail the completed application form, a photocopy of the applicant's valid photo ID, a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a $10.00 check or money order to the following address:

Orange County Divorce Records
Eligible persons may access certified copies of divorce records maintained by the Department of Public Health from the Town Clerk's Office where a marriage was dissolved.
Requesters may obtain a request form to apply for certified copies of Orange County divorce certificates for divorces from 2023 to the present. Those who complete the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA) Form may also obtain certified copies of divorce records from 1902 through 2021.
Eligible applicants wishing to receive their divorce records via mail must download and complete the divorce certificate application form. They must mail the completed application form, a photocopy of the applicant's valid photo ID, a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a $10.00 check or money order to the Vermont Department of Public Health at the address above.
Orange Birth Records
Orange County birth records are maintained by the Vermont Department of Health and Town Clerks in the towns where the births were registered. Under Vermont law, only eligible parties, such as record holders or family members, may order certified copies of these documents online, in person, or by mail.
Requesters submitting an Orange County birth certificate request must include a copy of accepted identification, the completed application form, any additional proof of authorization required, and a signed check or money order ($10.00 per certified copy) made out to the Vermont Department of Health.
